QuickTime 3.0, developed by Apple Inc, brings you the tools to work with media files in an enhanced way. It is an efficient program designed to create and edit video files.
With its user-friendly interface, it allows both beginners and experts to free their creative spirit while creating and editing movies.
QuickTime runs both on Mac and Windows platforms, and provides useful tools for the creation and editing of several image formats.
It supports GIF, JPEG, TIFF and other file formats, and video output components.
Quicktime also supports Photoshop files, either existent or newly created; however, it does not allow re-opening the files once opened and edited by Photoshop.
Other features of QuickTime 3.0 include Sorenson Video codec for advanced video compression, QDesign Music codec for substantial audio compression and improved playback of MIDI music files. The upside of the application is that it supports AVI and exports files in BMP, JPEG, PICT, Photoshop and QuickTime formats.
The program also adds video effects that can be applied to video tracks in real time by just a few mouse clicks.
QuickTime is distributed free of charge. However, the included QuickTime Player is limited to only basic playback operations.
